Once you’ve activated the AI Copilot, you’re ready to try it out!
Open the AI Copilot Panel
First, open the AI Copilot in ONE of the following ways:
- Click the PixieBrix icon from the Chrome Extension menu. Don’t see it? You may need to click the puzzle icon to find it. Then click the Pin icon next to PixieBrix so it shows up in your menu next time!
- Open the Quick Bar by pressing
CMD/Ctrl + M
and then selecting the AI Copilot action from the menu that appears. Don’t see it? Try typingAI
.
- Right-click any webpage, even this one, and click the AI Copilot action from the options.
Once you do any one of those, a Sidebar appears with Quick Actions and a drop down for prompts.
Test an Action (button)
Now let’s test out some of those buttons that appear in the panel! To do this, you must have text selected, as these are actions performed on existing text, rather than generating something new.
Highlight the following text with your mouse.
My cat is so adorable!
Click the “Recommend Emojis & Hashtags” button from the AI Copilot Sidebar.
The panel will change to show a loading indicator while it asks ChatGPT. Soon, it returns a response with your original text and recommended emojis and hashtags!
You can copy this to your clipboard and use it anywhere you need it. If you want to try again, click Re-run, or update the Enter a reply field with additional instructions like “suggest 5 more emojis”.
When you’re done, close the tab by clicking the X in the top right.
You’ll return to the main AI Copilot panel where you can select another action or Pick a Prompt. Let’s try that.
Test Prompts from Dropdown
Just below the Pick a Prompt text, you’ll see a field that says Select… Click that to open a dropdown of our preconfigured prompts.
Choose any one of them that you like!
Once you click a prompt, new fields appear to pass information for the prompt.
Fill in the fields and click Run Prompt.
AI Copilot will run and then provide an answer you can copy to your clipboard, just like with the previous action!
Carry on the conversation to ask it to do anything like make it longer, or go into more detail. Or click Re-run to have it try the prompt again.
